A cigarette break, a quiet corner behind the supermarket, and the kind of conversation that makes you forget you were supposed to be doing something else. Tayama from Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You gets a beautifully laid-back collectible from Neko Figurines, capturing her leaning against a storage shelf with a cigarette between her lips and that effortlessly cool attitude that makes the series work. Her leather jacket, fitted dress, stockings, ankle boots, and casually tied-back hair give the figure plenty of character without needing some ridiculous action pose. The environment does the rest: stacked crates, cardboard boxes, bottles, metal shelving, and a broom turn an ordinary supermarket backroom into a surprisingly charming display. It’s an intimate little slice-of-life scene, complete with the sort of atmosphere that makes you wonder how much emotional damage can happen during a smoke break. With an alternate head option and carefully sculpted environmental details, this Tayama figure is a fantastic addition for collectors of Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You and anyone who appreciates a character who can steal the entire scene while doing absolutely nothing dramatic.
