Store History
Once upon a time (okay, 2022), we bravely ventured into the wilds of Etsy Marketplace. Armed only with a pile of resin and an alarming number of late-night print failures, we somehow managed to rack up over 2,000 sales and 800+ 5-star reviews. Eventually, Etsy’s ever-shifting algorithms and fees convinced us it was time to forge our own path—so here we are, flying solo under our own domain like the independent nerds we are. If you’d like to stroll down memory lane, you can still visit the remnants of our old shop at DungeonMasterMinisUS on Etsy.
About the Owner
Hi, I’m the one to blame for all this. My love affair with RPGs is older than some of the interns at Wizards of the Coast. I devoured everything from Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights to Planescape: Torment, Diablo 1 & 2, and more. All those hours in front of glowing CRT monitors morphed my passion for gaming into something resembling a legitimate business (or at least a hobby that pays for itself).
Why I Started Resin Printing
Back in the early 2010s, a friend lured me into a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, and I was instantly hooked. It wasn’t long before I was Dungeon Mastering and orchestrating TPKs for my friends. But my grand plans for immersive sessions were sabotaged by our collective lack of miniatures. We resorted to buttons and coins as stand-ins—functional but about as inspiring as a soggy character sheet.
Desperate for a better solution (and tired of hearing “Wait, which button is the ogre?”), I tried a Creality Ender 3 filament printer. It was...an experience. After selling that disappointment on Craigslist, I discovered resin printing and never looked back. My first Mars 1 printer cranked out lovely miniatures—until they spontaneously self-amputated when stored together. Resin minis were too brittle to survive the perils of actual gameplay.
A few years later, ABS-like resins arrived on the scene. Progress! These minis were sturdier, but still prone to catastrophic dismemberment if dropped. Finally, flexible resins changed everything. By mixing flexible and ABS-like resins, I unlocked the holy grail: miniatures that could survive even my butterfingered handling.
The Shop (a.k.a. My Garage and Basement)
Our operation is as glamorous as you’d expect: a garage and basement stuffed with 3D printers, resin vats, and questionable amounts of caffeine. When my wife and I relocated from Las Vegas to Missouri so she could finish her nursing degree (while wrangling our two awesome kids), I needed to help make up for the lost income. Thus, the short-lived Etsy empire was born—and evolved into the full-fledged print shop you see today. At any given moment, you’ll find two filament printers, ten resin printers, and a processing and paint area all working overtime.
Why Pick Us?
Meticulous Post-Processing: We don’t just pull your prints off the plate and toss them in a box. Every piece is cleaned, sanded, and fussed over to look as polished as a nat-20 on a persuasion check.
Durable Resin Mixes: We blend resins so your minis and dice towers can endure all the rolling, dropping, and cat attacks your game nights entail.
Quality Assurance: Our track record speaks for itself: thousands of happy customers and no small amount of bragging rights.
Customer Satisfaction: If anything isn’t up to snuff, we’ll make it right—whether that means a replacement or a refund. We take care of our fellow nerds.
